About Me

I'm an author, music writer and culture critic currently living in New York. My first book, Larger Than Life: A History of Boy Bands from NKOTB to BTS, was released in July 2020 on Hachette imprint Black Dog and Leventhal. The brilliant Alex Fine illustrated it. It is currently being adapted into a documentary by director Gia Coppola, Jason Bateman's Aggregate Films, and Oscar-nominated studio XTR.

As of June 2023, I am The Associated Press' music reporter.

I've worked as a culture writer at Netflix, senior writer at Jezebel, managing editor at Gizmodo Media Group, senior correspondent at Fuse TV, and contributor and trending news editor at BuzzFeed. You may have seen my work at NPR and in Billboard, SPIN, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, and many other quality publications.

If I were in a boy band, I’d be the bad boy. Yes, Harry Styles ruined my life.
